KALEVIPOEG BECOMES KING Kalev and Linda ruled as king and queen of old Estonians. Kalev died. Who would become the new king? Kalev’s three sons decided that he who casts a stone farthest would become king. Kalev’s sons went to a lake to cast stones. The first brother’s stone fell into the lake – splash! The second brother’s stone landed half way in water near the shore – thump! The third brother’s stone flew far across the lake – whizz! Kalev’s third son became king.
